Architectural Technologist

As our design/drafting department continues to expand, we are searching for an experienced Architectural Technologist to join our team. This candidate should enjoy problem-solving and have a deep technical understanding of Ontario building practices, standards, and codes. The ideal candidate will have an eye for design, be detail-oriented, and have a strong understanding of the construction process.

Requirements

5+ years of relevant experience
BCIN Certification (Small or Large Buildings) or AATO Certification
Diploma or Degree in Architectural Construction Technology
Strong organizational and time management skills
Proficient in Revit
Strong ability to interpret and apply the Ontario Building Code in conjunction with building science principles, construction assemblies, and real-world construction practices
Familiarity with municipal by-laws, conservation authorities, and other governing authorities
Experience preparing and submitting drawings for site plan applications and building permit applications

Bonus Skills

Experience with timber-frame construction
Experience completing quantity take-offs and estimates
Previous on-site construction experience
